Willows Farm - 21st May 2019

Penguin and Puffin classes have been out enjoying the sunshine at Willows Farm in St Albans today. They milked some cows, took a tractor ride, watched a show about life on a farm, and lots more!

Team Building at Pirton Hill - 17th May 2019

A group of children from Early Years and Key Stage 1 spent some time at Pirton Hill Primary School today and took part in a range of activities with pupils from across the West Area Partnership - it looks like they had a fantastic time!

Exploring Minibeasts - 16th May 2019

The children in Reception have been exploring animals and life cycles. They have been looking very carefully at worms and caterpillars.

Hats of Faith Assembly - 25th March 2019

We had visitors in school this morning from Luton's Council of Faiths who delivered an assembly to Reception and Key Stage 1 based on the stories Hats of Faith and Monkey See, Monkey Do. It was very interactive and the children loved taking part, and showed respect for everything that they learned.

A Mysterious Egg - 26th February 2019

There were some strange footprints on the Early Years playground this morning and children were very excited to discover an egg. There was a lot of discussion including whether it could be an egg laid by the Loch Ness Monster!

Goldilocks Pizza - 14th February 2019

Children in our Nursery have invented a new version of the story of Goldilocks and the Three Bears as part of their Talk for Writing. They replaced the porridge with pizza and had a lot of fun creating their own pizza using tomato sauce, cheese, sweetcorn, pineapple and ham. They were very excited to take the pizza home and eat it!

Exploring Colour - 12th February 2019

Penguin Class have been exploring colour and what happens when you mix colours using a variety of sweets. The children have shared what they understand to be healthy eating and have been very enthusiastic about discussing their predictions and making observations about what will happen to the sweets when they are added to water.

Number Blocks Fun! - 25th January 2019

Our Nursery children have been working very hard over the holiday completing some fantastic work in the Learning Logs. They visited Miss Pollard in her office this morning to share their amazing work and everyone enjoyed singing the golden sticker song.

Video Conference with Father Christmas - 13th December 2018

Our Early Years children had a fantastic treat this morning when they found themselves chatting with Father Christmas by video link all the way from the North Pole! He had taken time from his very busy schedule to talk with the children and ask them questions. Everyone enjoyed the chance to find out more about what he has been up to.

Christmas Counts - 11th and 12th December 2018

Our children in Early Years have been rehearsing and, following Monday's dress rehearsal in front of their friends in Key Stage 2, they are now ready to preform to their parents and friends of the school. The nativity in the Early Years is called 'Christmas Counts'.

The Adventures of Belli the Elf - December 2018

Children in the Early Years have been arriving every morning keen to find out what Belli the Elf has been getting up to in their classrooms!

Thank you to everyone who came along to our Early Years coffee morning on Wednesday 19th September - the children performed brilliantly and staff were able to share what we are covering over the course of the year. You also helped us to raise lots of money for Macmillan Cancer Care!
