Hatching chicks - 13th June 2018
The chicks in Early Years are starting to hatch. Children were delighted when they came into school this morning to find some of the chicks that had hatched overnight.

Releasing Butterflies - 14th May 2018
They've looked after them since they were eggs and this morning it was time for our Early Years children to release their fully grown butterflies! They have been learning about the life cycle of butterflies as part of their work on The Very Hungry Caterpillar.
The Very Hungry Caterpillar - 16th April 2018
Children in the Early Years have been very interested in the caterpillars that arrived in the classrooms today. They are reading the book The Very Hungry Caterpillar and are looking forward to finding out what happens to their caterpillars!
Investigating Paw Prints - 20th March 2018
There were paw prints on the playground this morning but luckily our Early Years children were on hand to investigate what has happened and they are now writing to the zoo to share their findings.
Bear Hunt - 20th February 2018
Early Years went on their own bear hunt ready to catch a big one! The weather wasn't beautiful though so they stayed inside but they definitely weren't scared. We are looking forward to seeing more of the work and activities that the children in Nursery and Reception do as they read and learn the popular book by Michael Rosen.
Problem Solving and Teamwork - 19th January 2018
The children in our Early Years love being outside where they can play together and work together to solve problems. This group of children are having fun finding out the best way to build a house.
The Adventures of Twinkle the Elf - 19th December 2017
During the month of December our Early Years children have been delighted to find out what Twinkle the Elf has been getting up to each day since he arrived on his paper aeroplane! On the last day of term they found that Twinkle had been accidentally frozen by Elsa and they investigated ways to set him free. Twinkle has now returned back to Father Christmas to report on how hard the children have been working.
Video conferencing with Father Christmas - 8th December 2017
This morning, Father Christmas took the time to video conference with our Early Years children, taking time out at this very busy time of the year! Father Christmas wished them luck with their Nativity and knew that Jingle Bells was their favourite song. He told them about where he lived, the reindeer and about the toys being made in his factory. They asked questions like:
Do you have a car? He said he doesn't need one because of the reindeer. What do you do in the summer? He works getting ready for Christmas.
What is your favourite biscuit? He told them that he really loved sprouts but hoped they'd leave him some biscuits out on Christmas Eve.
Exciting presents - 31st October 2017
Our youngest pupils had a very exciting start to the day when they noticed that there were lots of presents hidden around our Early Years Unit. They were very keen to find them and then wrote lists to show what might be inside the wrapping paper.
Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See? - 19th October 2017
Our Early Years pupils put on a brilliant performance for their parents this morning. They have learned their own innovated version of the story 'Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See?' and made us all very proud!
Loving the rain - 29th September 2017
It may have been a wet day but that doesn't stop children in our Early Years Unit from going outside and they had great fun today making coloured water and moving the water around using pipettes.
Unfortunately not the ones with chocolate chips.
