Bug Hotels - 28th May 2021

Year 2 have had fun hunting the school grounds for objects to make bug hotels as part of their Fantastic Finish for their Habitats topic. They then hung them in the new school garden and can't wait to see what's living inside them after half term.

Cheese and Vegemite Straws - 26th May 2021

Year 2 made some cheese and vegemite straws in D.T. as part of their learning on a healthy but balanced diet, linking with their learning about Australia. Do you think they loved them or hated them?

A Visit from an Imam - 19th May 2021

Year 2 had a visit from Habib, the Imam from our local mosque, Zakariya Masjid. Being a former pupil here he thoroughly enjoyed coming back and sharing information about his role in the mosque with the children. Habib also told the children about the Prophets and leaders in the Islamic faith as well as their beliefs and followings. Thank you Habib. 

Teaching Talons - 19th April 2021

Year 2 were delighted when they came face to face with real animals this morning. Our friends from Teaching Talons brought lots of different animals for the children to touch and stroke while they learned about them ready for this half term's learning.

Moving Pictures - 26th March 2021

Children in Year 2 enjoyed rounding off this half term's learning by investigating and making their own moving pictures!

World Book Day - 4th March 2021

We all enjoyed dressing up as our favourite book characters for World Book Day!

Marvellous Maths - 23rd February 2021

Bread Making - 12th November 2020

To start their learning about the Great Fire of London, children in Year 2 have been baking their own bread - mmmm, it was very tasty!

Explorer Day - 23rd October 2020

To end this half term's Explorer topic, Year 2 had a fabulous day taking part in lots of different activities including orienteering, completing puzzles, investigating flags and map reading.

To support children with developing their writing skills, we use Pie Corbett's Talk 4 Writing process throughout the school. This involves children learning a story, including actions, which they can then use to support their own independent writing. We hope you like the story that children in Year 2 have been learning.

The Space Race - 11th September 2020

Year 2 have had a Sensational Start to their Explorers topic. They’ve been building rockets to replicate the famous Space Race between the Soviet Union and the USA in the 1950s! Thank you for sending in plastic bottles to help them out.
