The Romans at St Albans Cathedral - 7th July 2021

To round off their learning about the Romans, children have enjoyed a fantastic visit to St Albans Cathedral today.

Cricket Coaching - 9th June 2021

Children in Year 3 have been enjoying their cricket sessions in the beautiful sunshine today with coaches from Chance to Shine teaching them catching skills.

Testing Soils - 19th May 2021

As part of their science topic, Year 3 have enjoyed carrying out an investigation into the permeability of different soils.

Telling the Time - 12th May 2021

This week Year 3 have been learning the important skill of telling the time with an analogue clock.

Captain Sir Tom Moore 101 Challenge - 30th April 2021

Peacock class enjoyed completing 101 squats as part of the 101 Challenge commemorating the life of Captain Sir Tom Moore on the day that would have been his 101st birthday!

Our Time Capsule - 15th April 2021

As Year 3 start to think about clues that tell us about the past, they have also thought about what our clues might tell people in the future about us. They especially thought about the impact of coronavirus and what has changed for all of us over the past year.

First Aid training - 25th March 2021

Children in Year 3 enjoyed rounding off this term's learning by learning First Aid skills to become real-life superheroes! They've also been finding out about super foods.

Skeletons - 12th March 2021

It all looks a bit spooky in Year 3 as they make skeletons as part of the learning that they have been doing about the human body!

World Book Day - 4th March 2021

We all enjoyed dressing up as our favourite book characters for World Book Day!

Year 3 have started to learn to play the recorder this term with Luton Music Services and we're really impressed with the fantastic progress that they've already made!

To support children with developing their writing skills, we use Pie Corbett's Talk 4 Writing process throughout the school. This involves children learning a story, including actions, which they can then use to support their own independent writing. We hope you like the story that children in Year 3 have been learning.

Papaya Tasting - 9th September 2020

Year 3 are learning the story 'The Papaya That Spoke' in their English lessons but what does a papaya taste like? Year 3 decided that they would find out and had a tasting session in school. They loved the taste and some have even asked their parents if they can have some at home!
