Some very brave Year 4 children had a camping adventure over night, setting up their tents on our very own school field. Once the tents were pitched, they enjoyed a range of activities including archery, pyjama hide and seek, fire lighting, and a game of 'Teacher's Revenge'. The toasted marshmallows went down very well which children toasted themselves and they also managed to get some sleep despite the scary story that they heard around the campfire about the ghost of Lady Southfield! The children were absolutely brilliant and the staff who stayed with the children (Miss Scarry, Mr Stone, Mrs James and Miss Pollard) were very impressed!
Carnival Awards Ceremony - 9th June 2018
This evening we were invited along to the Carnival Arts Centre in Luton for their Awards Ceremony. We arrived by minibus and sat patiently to see if we had won anything and also congratulating other winners. We were delighted to achieve a trophy for Outstanding Contribution to Learning for linking our carnival work to our current Year 4 unit of work on the Ancient Egyptians. We were then amazed to receive two more trophies: 2nd place for Best Newcomer, and also for Best Schools Performance. We're now looking forward to being even bigger and better next year!
Luton International Carnival - 27th May 2018
Year 4 have been working hard for the whole of this half term to prepare for this year's Luton Carnival. Children designed and made costumes as part of their work on the Ancient Egyptians and then took part in the parade around Luton. It was a very hot day (although we were worried we would get wet as there had been thunder storms the night before!) but everyone was brilliant throughout the parade. Take a look at the photos in our video of the day!
Carnival Preparations - 14th May 2018
In preparation for the forthcoming Luton Carnival, our Year 4 pupils are making some fabulous costumes. Their theme is the Egyptians and we're sure you would agree that the costumes are already looking stunning! We are taking part in the Carnival parade on Sunday 27th May over the Bank Holiday weekend.
Visit to the Carnival of Arts Centre - 23rd April 2018
Year 4 had fun at the Carnival of Arts Centre this morning making an array of headdresses and decorations as we prepare to take part in the Luton Carnival in May.
Homework Superstars - 26th January 2018
To prepare for this half term's unit of work, 'Man vs Machine', Year 4 have produced some brilliant pieces of homework making their own robots.
Viking Wow Day - 20th November 2017
Year 4 really enjoyed their visit from a real life Viking today! He told them all about what life was like for the Vikings and shared a huge range of artefacts which the children enjoyed exploring. They were very sensible and stayed away from the weapons though!
