Amazing Maths - 31st January 2019
Children in Key Stage 1 have been been having a fantastic week of mathematical measuring fun. They measured the playground, made paper aeroplanes and measured how far they could throw them. They have also measured out the ingredients to make play dough which they then used to create their own numbers. They particularly enjoyed today where they had to make 'truth serum' and 'invisibility potion' to help Miss Pollard catch the thief who keeps stealing biscuits from her drawer!
Net Wall Festival - 30th January 2019
Some of our Key Stage 1 children took part in a Net Wall festival at Inspire Sports Centre this morning - it looks like lots of fun and they represented the school brilliantly!
KS1 Litter Pickers - 24th January 2019
Inspired by their learning about recycling and the environment, the children in Key Stage 1 have asked if they can do some litter picking around the school grounds and they have been doing a great job!
Visit to Lewsey Library - 23rd January 2019
Our Key Stage 1 classes have been finding out about all of the books that can be found at Lewsey Library. They now know how to join the library, where to find the books that they need and even had the chance to share their favourite books.
Lights, Camel, Action! - 12th and 13th December 2018
Our children in Key Stage 1 have been rehearsing and, following Monday's dress rehearsal in front of their friends in Key Stage 2, they are now ready to preform to their parents and friends of the school. Our Key Stage 1 pupils will be acting and singing the nativity, 'Lights, Camel, Action!'.
Great Fire of London - 19th November 2018
Children in Key Stage 1 have been making houses designed to look like the houses at the time of the Great Fire of London. Today they saw first-hand how the smallest fire can spread very quickly and burn down all of the houses!
Gunpowder Mills visit - 1st and 2nd November 2018
Our Key Stage 1 pupils visited the Gunpowder Mills to find out more about Guy Fawkes as part of their topic 'Fire and Ice'. They all had a brilliant time finding out about cooking, writing, and also re-enacting the events. We look forward to seeing how the children apply their learning back at school.
Thank you to everyone who came along to our coffee morning on Tuesday 18th September - the children performed brilliantly and staff were able to share what we are covering over the course of the year. You also helped us to raise lots of money for Macmillan Cancer Care!
