Where learning comes to life

English

Our children learn to read and write through the implementation of Talk for Writing across our school. Our children develop a passion for reading as they are exposed to high quality texts and immersed in rich vocabulary, which is displayed in the classrooms. The children are developing the skills required to write independently at the expected standard and beyond. We want all of our pupils to be capable readers, writers, spellers and speakers, who can transfer their English skills to other curriculum subjects. At the initial stage of learning to read the children participate in daily phonics lessons.
