Children were very excited to come into school this morning to find that the eggs have started to hatch!

Waiting For Our Eggs To Hatch - 24th June 2021

Children in Reception are being very patient as they eagerly wait for their eggs to hatch so that they can meet the baby chicks, and have made their very own countdown calendar to keep track of the days.

Reception have been learning all about space this half term and when learning about our planet, they were really interested in ways of looking after the planet we call home. We wrote some instructions together and have put together some actions to help us retell them.

Children in Reception were inspired by their text for this half term “Brown Bear, Brown Bear What Can You See?” and so they went for an environmental walk to see what they could see with their 'binoculars'.

To support children with developing their writing skills, we use Pie Corbett's Talk 4 Writing process throughout the school. This involves children learning a story, including actions, which they can then use to support their own independent writing. We hope you like the story that children in Reception have been learning. Light and Dark Disco - 14th September 2020

As they start to learn about Light and Dark, Reception have enjoyed a disco where they had the chance to investigate with torches and glow sticks!

The Runaway Pea - 11th September 2020

Our Reception children had a lovely treat today when they received their Time to Read packs from the Book Trust - they couldn't wait to share their new books with their parents at the end of the day!
